Clearance of unexploded ordnance (UXO)

Supervision before the Construction Phase

  • Technical advice on cable manufacturing (cable design)
  • On-site supervision during cable production
  • Monitoring FAT (Factory Acceptance Test)
  • Geophysical, geological, geotechnical and environmental subsurface investigations ( e.g. MAG (p-UXO), MBES, SSS, VibroCore, CPT, etc.)
  • Route preparation: Route Clearance, Boulder Clearance, Pre Lay Grapnel Run (PLGR), Mattressing, Pre Lay Run (PLR), Dredging
  • Quality control, evaluation, and assessment of survey data

Supervision during the Construction Phase

  • Cable loading and transport
  • Cable installation in shallow water and tidal flats e.g. Vertical Injector, Vibro Sword etc.
  • Cable installation in deep water e.g. with cable ploughs (HD3 Plough), trencher, TROVs etc.
  • Cable Pull In and Cable Landing (pull in as first end or second end, floating or dry falling, with or without cable protection systems, pull in into cable protection pipes)
  • Electrical work (cable pull in, joint installation, termination installation)
  • Subsequent work (e.g. burial of cables and joints, cable protection, backfilling, rock dumping, etc.)
  • Commissioning (optical and electrical measurements, sheath tests, high-voltage tests)
  • Documentation of construction progress
  • Checking the as-built documentation
